Ketut.
Ketut sells handmade bracelets and fresh coconuts on a remote beach in Bali.
Early in the morning, she embarks on a steep and muddy path from her hut, while carrying a full bag of coconuts on her back.
Barefoot. Multiple times per day.
She has kids to feed who rely on her shop’s revenue and the handful of cows her family has left her. One of her dreams is to come to visit the US, but she’s never been outside of Bali before.
She was the happiest person I met in Indonesia: one who made me take a good outside look at my #priorities in life.
When we were done chatting (she learned English for her clients) I asked if I could share her story online because it might impact others too.
She was as #surprised as she was excited...
So there she is!
